# Billing purchase conflict

> What the `billing_purchase_conflict` error means and what to do next.

The API, CLI and MCP return `billing_purchase_conflict` with HTTP 409. Repeating the same request unchanged does not help.

## What to do

This workspace already has Paid or an open Paid checkout, this key belongs to a checkout with a different offer or pack count, or, for 'billing portal', the workspace has never started a checkout. Read the original checkout with 'ohmyhost billing status --organization ULID --checkout CHECKOUT\_ULID --json'; manage an existing Paid subscription with 'ohmyhost billing portal'. Never start a second purchase after an uncertain one.
