# Github connection required

> What the `github_connection_required` error means and what to do next.

The API, CLI and MCP return `github_connection_required` with HTTP 409. Repeating the same request unchanged does not help.

## What to do

This workspace has no GitHub connection yet. Run 'ohmyhost github connect --organization ULID --idempotency-key KEY --json' for it, complete its browser link, then repeat the original source link. If the project belongs to another account, use that account's login instead; error.acting\_as in the CLI and MCP names the login this ran as.

If the steps above do not resolve it, [report it](/feedback) with the `request_id` from the error.
