# Mail domain conflict

> What the `mail_domain_conflict` error means and what to do next.

The API, CLI and MCP return `mail_domain_conflict` with HTTP 409. Repeating the same request unchanged does not help.

## What to do

Use the sender domain already configured for this project, or retire it with 'ohmyhost mail domain delete' (repeat while the removal is pending) and then set up the new domain; a domain registered to another project cannot be set up.
