# Workers runtime incompatible

> What the `workers_runtime_incompatible` error means and what to do next.

The API, CLI and MCP return `workers_runtime_incompatible` with HTTP 409. Repeating the same request unchanged does not help.

## What to do

A Next.js file under app/, pages/, middleware or proxy imports a native addon (.node) or a Node.js module that does not run on Workers: child\_process, cluster, dgram, domain, http2, inspector, readline, repl, sqlite, trace\_events, tty, v8, vm, wasi, worker\_threads or \_stream\_wrap, with or without node:. Remove or replace that import, commit and push, then plan the new commit.

If the steps above do not resolve it, [report it](/feedback) with the `request_id` from the error.
